We would like to inform you that the Prato Recycled Carded Paper Consortium is advancing towards obtaining the PGI certification, a recognition that would enhance the uniqueness of our product and its strong connection to the local area.
In December, a delegation from the consortium will travel to Rome to officially present the proposal to the Minister of Made in Italy, a crucial event that could pave the way for a significant achievement for the entire district.
Prato recycled carded paper represents a unique industrial and cultural heritage, the fruit of expertise developed over two centuries of processing.
It is also one of the most consolidated models of circular economy applied to textiles, thanks to processes that enhance regenerated materials, reduce waste, and ensure a controlled and transparent supply chain.
Obtaining the PGI certification would formally recognize and protect this value, offering the product greater visibility and strengthening the credibility of the entire district on international markets.
At Fil-3, we believe this process represents a significant opportunity for the future of the region.
A PGI label would help strengthen the competitiveness of businesses, consolidate the district’s reputation, and more effectively promote the results achieved in terms of quality and sustainability. We will continue to closely monitor developments and support initiatives that enhance our supply chain.
