Interview on La Spola – “Privacy and Recognitions”

The interview with our Giacinto Gelli on the latest issue of La Spola.

“Fil-3, between the search for privacy and recognition”

In a difficult new year for the economy of the whole world, Fil-3 has nevertheless managed to find reasons for great satisfaction, with important awards and the arrival of exciting certifications.

In the first case, Fil-3 has received the certificate from C 9.41 Prime Company, or the status of a company that is recognized with the highest level of reliability from the point of view of commercial relations. The recognition is awarded every year to only 5% of the more than 6 million Italian companies by Cparmi, a company of CRIF, a group specialized in credit information systems, business information and solutions for credit management, which offers banks, companies financial institutions, with credit lines, insurance companies, telecommunications companies, utilities and businesses, a qualified support.

From the point of view of certifications for wool, the process for obtaining the RWS has been closed, in addition to the GRS, GOTS and Oeko-Tex Standard 100 already present for some time. A path towards sustainability that Fil-3 has chosen to go with conviction despite the expenses necessary to obtain a certification and the commitment required to provide all the data. This also to the detriment of privacy: “The end customers, that is the brands – says the CEO Giacinto Gelli bitterly – pretend to know how and where I buy the raw material, the yarn, the dye or the work; despite the certifications obtained and the good manufacturing practices, nobody rebels against this lack of privacy and this exaggeration in controls “.

Added to this are the increases in energy consumption, which forced Fil-3 to deal with the price lists, with price increases from one to three euros per kilo: “Usually – explains Gelli, who still leaves a 2021 in line with the 2019 pre pandemic – we had a single price list but the increases in electricity and gas prices, for us, the dyers and spinning mills, those of raw materials, with an almost unobtainable hand, and for transport making it impossible to make an annual schedule, even in the prices to the customer “.
